Lana Alsamir-Diamond

Lana Alsamir-Diamond is a Sydney-based artist who found her way to becoming a visual artist via a career in product design.

Lana’s work is graphic and minimal yet bold. Her abstract designs are inspired by her life experiences and packed with cultural influences and references.

Silhouettes and composition are the primary interest of Lana’s work. A sensitivity for negative space creates the perfect ground work for selective use of colour.

"I feel my work is very intuitive and involves a fair amount of restraint. For that reason I sometimes find myself producing work that involves more figurative elements, it is almost an instinctive need to be in control. I love the dialogue that two of my pieces can have in the same space. "

Working on both paper and canvas, Lana paints with Japanese ink, gouache and only the finest acrylic paints.

Lana was a finalist in Finalist in the Lethbridge 20000 Small Scale Art Award  in 2023 and 2024.
