Although originally from Sydney and having painted from a young age, it was a move to the country in the 1980s which sparked Gail’s love for the landscape. She continues to be inspired by the unique nature of Australia’s vast and captive landscape; this is reflected in her art which is texturally rich and seeks to capture the qualities of Australia’s panorama.
Now living on the Sunshine Coast, Gail likes to have multiple pieces on the go. Working predominantly in acrylic, oils and pastels, she also occasionally uses watercolours and other mixed media. She takes inspiration from her recent trip to Apollo Bay on the Great Ocean Road, while closer to home, Noosa National Park’s coastal walking tracks with their transition from beautiful landscape to stunning ocean views have also given Gail plenty of material to work with.
